When Last Advisor approached us, they brought with them a well-intentioned, flash-based application in need of an overhaul. We rebuilt the app with an HTML5 front-end, reworked the data models and back-end architecture, and developed extensive new functionality. In addition to the app, we also developed a subscription-based payment engine that integrates with the product, resulting in both higher subscription rates and lower customer churn.
"The software built by Objective has created a ripple effect throughout our industry. We’ve set the bar and have become an industry leader."
-Steve Swenson, CEO, Last Advisor
The Last Advisor web app was originally built in Flash, so we rebuilt the system from the ground up using Ruby on Rails and HTML5. Starting from scratch gave us the ability to solve dozens of architectural issues while implementing infrastructure for new features and growth. Our app will give the client years of smooth sailing.
Leveraging Ruby on Rails for the back-end and Backbone on the front-end let us develop quickly and efficiently with developers working in parallel to complete the project. This web app relies on tons of calculations that need to be updated frequently as a financial planner builds models. Backbone.js gave us a solid framework with which to handle client-side events and keep the user interface snappy and responsive.
